A beloved local tradition that has been running since 2007, presented by the Solano Avenue Association as the only free photo opportunity with Saint Nicholas in the region. The event takes place over three consecutive weekends in December from noon to 3:00 PM. Families are encouraged to bring their own cameras and take as many photos as they like, with the unique feature that Santa is pet-friendly, unlike typical mall Santa experiences.

Santa on Solano also features annual avenue centered coloring books which have been produced since 2015, adding an educational and creative element. The event embodies the Solano Avenue Association’s commitment to supporting local, independently-owned businesses and maintaining the small-town charm that defines this unique commercial district spanning Albany and Berkeley.
